The Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 (the Act) recognises the key role of councils in improving the health and wellbeing of people in their municipality. The Act requires every council in Victoria to prepare a Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan every four years. At Yarra Ranges we call ours the Health and Wellbeing Strategy.

Improving the health and wellbeing of our community is everyone’s business. Council's roles includes planning, funding and partnering with service providers and community groups, delivering some health related services and advocating to other levels of government.

We are currently developing our next four-year strategy to support a connected and healthy community. To do this, we will take an evidence informed approach - analysing local health data, consulting with local service providers and listening to issues raised by the community. This is why we want to hear from you.

There will be more chances to get involved with the project early next year, so make sure you click the '+Follow' button at the top of the page to stay involved.
