The Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 (the Act) recognises the key role of councils in improving the health and wellbeing of people in their municipality. The Act requires every council in Victoria to prepare a Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan every four years. At Yarra Ranges we call ours the Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
Improving the health and wellbeing of our community is everyone’s business. Council's roles includes planning, funding and partnering with service providers and community groups, delivering some health related services, and advocating to other levels of government.
We are currently developing our next four-year strategy to support a connected and healthy community. To do this, we have analysed local health data, consulted with local service providers and listened to issues raised by the community. The Draft Strategy is now ready for your final comments.
Make sure you click the '+Follow' button at the top of the page to stay involved and be informed when the Strategy is endorsed by Council.
