28 June 2023

Upgrade & Maintenance Works

As upgrades along Wattle Track (Blue track outlined on map) continue, we have allocated alternative routes for public access. Llyods Track is currently open, if access to this track is restricted the public can also take Tan Track. The sites will be signposted while works are underway.

Below is an update on the order of the existing trails being resurfaced in partnership with Parks Victoria to ensure the communities safety, and experience (depending on weather):

  1. Currently being upgraded - Wattle Track (Blue track outlined on map)
  2. Pound Creek (Purple track outlined on map)

Recently completed resurfacing tracks along Sherbrooke Trail -

  1. Sherbrooke Track (Red track outlined on map)
  2. Ridge Track (Green track outlined on map)

Sherbrooke Picnic Ground is now partially opened to the public, O’Donohue Picnic Ground is still fully available. Parks Victoria have advised that the Sherbrooke Picnic Ground toilets are still closed however, the O’Donohue toilet block is currently open.

These trails are part of the upgrade of trails within the Dandenong Ranges as part of the RidgeWalk | ngurrak barring project, improving links between townships and walkability which aligns with Yarra Ranges Council’s policy for improving community wellbeing.
