The Morrison Reserve Masterplan is coming!
We are currently exploring opportunities to upgrade Morrison Reserve, Mt Evelyn, including the creation of a bike park and upgrade to the current playspace.
These upgrades will be reflected in the Draft Morrison Reserve Masterplan, currently in development. This will be available for community comment later in the year.
In 2021 we undertook a 5-week Bike Park consultation with over 2000 responses. The findings showed a keen interest from the community for increasing formal bike infrastructure around Yarra Ranges. We have identified Morrison Reserve as a spot for building a new bike park for a few reasons:
- The available open space is an uncommon opportunity in the district to create a bike facility.
- The location is accessible to the surrounding communities in Wandin, Montrose, Kalorama, Lilydale, Silvan, Kilsyth and Seville.
- The reserve's landscape is an excellent building block for an all-ability bike park that considers the existing environment.
We are keen to get your feedback on some concept designs for the area that have been developed. Your feedback will contribute to our application for the Victorian State Government's Growing Suburbs Fund - which is critical to our ability to deliver this project.
Please note: we are only in the very early, initial phases of this project and the concepts are drafts only. Therefore, your feedback is vital in ensuring that any upgrades to Morrison Reserve meet the community’s needs. There will be further opportunities for feedback if the project is successful in attracting the grant.
