What we've done
We want to competitively position Yarra Ranges as a desirable place to live, work or visit through identifying economic development opportunities, and balancing the needs of our diverse community.
Throughout the journey of this strategy, we've been engaging with our local community of businesses, residents and stakeholders to create a 10-year Economic Strategy vison that will provide clear and measurable actions that will be renewed annually.
Below are some of the activities that have been completed over the timeline of this project that have been used to shape the Economic Development Strategy.
Through stage one of the consultation we engaged with multiple business and community stakeholders which resulted in:
We sent project updates, links to survey and promotions via emails, Yarra Ranges Business eNews, Council and Business Social Media.
We also consulted with our Special Interest Groups including Advisory Committees, Business Leaders Roundtable, State and Federal members, Local Employment and Education and Community Groups.
The draft Economic Development Strategy will be out for public exhibition between the 11th of August and the 11th of September.

Yarra Ranges Council have partnered with Yarra Ranges Tech School to speak with young people from two local high schools, engaging with them on our Economic Development Strategy and hear their ideas for what a sustainable future could look like for Yarra Ranges.
