Today we set ourselves up at the Council Community Link in Yarra Junction - what a busy spot on a Friday!

We were responding to a "Tell us where to go" request from a local community member and organiser of the Second Bite Community supermarket program.

Over 200 local community members attended today to utilise this wonderful service.

We also met with residents attending the Yarra Junction Senior cards group & LinC facilitated Playgroup.

Whilst we heard a few negative comments from locals;

  • The services and infrastructure are enough for the large number of residents.
  • Maternal & Child Health Services are hard to get appointments.
  • Need for more local employment opportunities.
  • Public transport is limited & better connections between the townships are needed.

We also heard how much you LOVE the community feel.

  • Great sporting facilities
  • Awesome (and ever expanding) walking paths & trails.
  • Amazing community groups in the area.
