• Olinda Playspace

We set up in this wonderful playspace this morning (after grabbing a coffee from the resident coffee van). Popular with children of all ages and families enjoying school holidays on the play equipment, kicking the footy on the oval, picnics and cooking up a BBQ. We met so many gorgeous dogs out for their walks too!

  • Featured engagements

We spoke to community members about projects currently open for consultation including the Draft Aquatic Strategy and CHIL (Community Heart in Lilydale) and asked them to tell us "What do you love about this area ?" We also had plans to share for upcoming art installations for ngurrak barring (Ridgewalk)

  • Connections

We had officers from the Community Engagement, ngurrak barring (Ridgewalk) and the Recreation teams.

We heard from over 90 people including local residents - lots of families & children and many visitors to the area.

Special shout out to Katherine who received some lovely feedback from a local resident on our Instagram

I visited the playspace today and Katherine was lovely. It was so good to speak to someone so passionate about the environment

  • What we heard

    • People love this park & willing to travel for it - we met visitors from Knox, Maroondah, St Kilda & Morewell !
    • You love the trees, equipment, fireplace and spaces here but would like more car parking and a permanent cafe. Wayfinding signage is needed (we'll be discussing these comments with Parks Vic)
    • The Hills villages are great communities! You like ngurrak barring instillations so far & are exploring the new trails - would like more links between Monbulk Aquatic to Kallista.
