We set up in the outdoor activation parklet on Mt Dandenong Tourist Road. A shady spot often used by community to have their morning coffee.

We encouraged community members to participate in a fun Draft Budget activity allocating points to services they feel Yarra Ranges Council should focus on into the future.

We had officers from the Community Engagement Team

We heard from 29 people including residents, business owners and visitors.

The main themes we heard were

• Sassafras has a strong sense of community and local business owners are very engaged with residents and visitors.
• Visitors noted some accessibility issues and difficulty entering shops
• There is a need for a pedestrian crossing (watch this space !!)
• Permits and regulations can delay activation of vacant sites due to planning constraints.
