• Pathways for carers and Mt Evelyn Community house

We attended the monthly carers walk organised from the Mt Evelyn Community House today. This project offers carers of people with a disability or mental illness an opportunity to share walks together and to learn more about news, services and support available to carers.

  • Featured engagements

We encouraged community members to tell us their thoughts about projects currently open for Community Consultation including CHIL (Community Heart in Lilydale) and Collins Place, Kilsyth. As always, we encourage any discussion around what you love about your local area !

  • Connections

We had officers from the Community Engagement and Recreation join us today.

The draft Active Recreation plan will be launching for Community Engagement soon and we want to hear from all areas and demographics of our community with how we can encourage everyone to get active ! We heard from around 18 people including carers and visitors to the busy Community House.

  • What we heard

    The main themes were

    • Carers are time poor - you want information in hard copy to read in your own time.
    • Infrastructure maintenance and improvements top the list of requirements - roads, pedestrian crossing, (level) footpaths, cross overs, accessible parking.
    • You, and the people you care for, want to get active ! You need accessible infrastructure to do this including plenty of places to sit & rest and good toilet facilities.
    • You love Mt Evelyn Community House & all the programs available !
