The Mt Evelyn Street Party is a biennial event hosted by Mt Evelyn Township Group, the Street Party commenced in 2001 and attracts people from all over. They celebrated the 1950s with rock’n’roll dancing, musicians, fashion contests, classic cars, school children on stage, memorabilia and the best dressed contests. There were competitions, free activities for children and a huge marketplace, as well as plenty of food and drinks both from stallholders and the towns superb local cafes.

We asked community members to tell us their thoughts about projects currently open for Community Consultation including Housing Strategy 2023 and the Aquatics and Leisure strategy. We had officers from Community Engagement, Communications, Housing Strategy and Early Years teams join us today.

We brought along some crafts for the children to enjoy whilst we chatted with local families. It was a stunning sunny day and we heard from lots of community at this hugely popular event, we stopped counting at 200 people ! - Mt Evelyn locals, residents from the surrounding hills area and other visitors to the event.

• Mt Evelyn has a country town feel, a great community & wonderful environment.
• Great facilities, playgrounds, library & services and shops - but would like a bit more variety of shops.
• You would like to see a cheaper & easier process for planning & building renovations. Reduction in minimum lot needed for subdivision.
• You love FOGO !!
• Bins along the trail - even if its just at car parks for dog waste also bike repair stations & toilets.
• More places to cross roads safely - Hereford Road & York Road.
