We visited the recently opened - and already very popular - pump track today. If you’re not familiar with pump tracks, it is a circuit of rollers, banked turns and features designed to be ridden by “pumping” to generate momentum instead of pedalling. Pump tracks can be ridden using a bike, scooter, skateboard and even wheelchairs! As it is next to the Yarra Valley trail we also spoke to some morning walkers & cute dogs.

We encouraged community members to tell us their thoughts about the Pump Track and other recreational facilities in Yarra Ranges. It was also the last few days of the Draft Aquatic Survey being open for community consultation. Some of our younger visitors thoroughly enjoyed a craft activity arranged by the Early Years team.

We had officers from the Community Engagement, Recreation and the Early Years team join us today.

We heard from around 18 people including riders of all ages !

The main themes were

• Local residents enjoy the serenity of Coldstream & are happy to see improvements such as this Pump Track.
• Everyone wants a Pump Track near them - Seville, Healesville & Mooroolbark to name a few !
• You are looking forward to the addition of toilets, formalised parking area & some shelter - watch this space for these improvements in the next few months.
