The Kilsyth Festival is held at the Elizabeth Bridge Reserve to highlight the communities’ natural resources and the day’s environmental focus. Through workshops and information stands the festival aims to educate people about how to look after the environment and lead sustainable lives.

We have been attending this annual event for three years now alongside community groups, local arts and craft, live music, entertainment and food vendors. It is an opportunity for local businesses, community groups and schools to contribute and give back to the community.

This year we were joined by our Waste Education team and Bio Gro who process the FOGO collected from Yarra Ranges and turn it into organic compost! As well as answering your questions around waste, we also had fun games to test the knowledge around "what waste goes in which bin' and young visitors got to plant their own tomato seeds to take home to grow!

The drizzling rain didn't dampen spirits (or visitor numbers) as we collected feedback around projects currently open for engagement including Montrose Recreation Reserve Playspace Renewal and McDermott Avenue Reserve Master Plan.
