We wen out to Elizabeth Bridge Reserve with the Community Engagement Roadshow during the school holidays - Tuesday 19 September. Hear what we heard below

  • Elizabeth Bridge Reserve

We headed out to Elizabeth Bridge and set up under the rotunda near the playground to have a chat with the community. We went along with the Early Years team who set up a fun scavenger hunt for the kids around the Reserve, and upon return, the kids could make a pirate hat out of newspaper. This is where we took the opportunity to have a chat with parents, grandparents an carers!

  • Featured engagements

We asked community members "What would you like to see at the Cambridge Road site?" Many people we spoke to regularly use the Elizabeth Bridge Reserve area so we chatted about the draft masterplan open for consultation. Our younger visitors enjoyed the treasure hunt while we spoke to parents and carers about ways to stay in touch & connected with Council services.

  • Connections

The Community Engagement Team connected with around 50 community members today including local residents', business owners & those who popped in from other local suburb.

The main conversations that we had were around:

    • 150 Cambridge Road
    • Toilets and family-friendly facilities
    • What people would like to see for the future of Kilsyth
  • What we heard

    • Love that we have bought the site and are asking community what they would like to see there rtather than assuming
    • People love that we have suggested ideas around incorporating natural elements into the area
    • Love that family-friendly amnd free activity options are being considered
    • Love seeing that Council is out and about chatting with community face to face!
