• Kallista Revival

We attended the Kallista Revival today, a village-wide community gathering to relaunch the Kallista Village Market, celebrate Kallista Primary School, support the local CFA and it definitely brought the Main St to life! The market will be returning on the first Saturday of every month, all the unique and charming shops of Kallista will be open too so grab a coffee, have a browse and support the local traders!

  • Featured engagements

We encouraged community members to tell us their thoughts about projects currently open for Community Consultation including Belgrave Tennis & Community Space and proposed pedestrian safety improvements in Sassafras & Olinda. As always, we encourage any discussion around what you love about your local area !

  • Connections

We had officers from Community Engagement, Waste Transition, Ngurrak barring - Ridgewalk, Facilities and Community Development teams join us today.

Our Community Development team asked the question "What would you like to see happen with the building previously used as the Kallista Community house?" which started some great conversation and ideas - watch this space !! We heard from over 100 people - Kallista locals, residents from the surrounding hills area and visitors to the bustling market.

  • What we heard

    • Need more pedestrian crossings (outside of school xing times)
    • Increase in deer - creating danger on roads & damaging forests.
    • Potholes & poor condition unsealed roads - loss of Roads for Community funding stopped proposed fixing
