• Valley Market at ECOSS

We set up in the regular Friday night market area, bustling with locals buying the freshest fruit & vegies, amazing bread & other goodies.

  • Featured engagements

We encouraged community members to participate in a fun Draft Budget activity allocating points to services they feel Yarra Ranges Council should focus on into the future. We also distributed information on how to participate in the Draft Aquatic Strategy including hard copy surveys with pre paid envelopes.

  • Connections

We had officers from the Community Engagement, Communications & Recovery teams.

We heard from around 20 people including local residents and business owners.

  • What we heard

    The main themes were

    • This is a passionate community, close knit who support each other.
    • Wary of council/government and often the resulting changes to their community
    • Resent this area being grouped as "urban"
    • Busy, time poor - need visual signs/posters as reminder re projects/meetings/how to get involved.
    • Small business - grants take up a lot of time to apply for - tenders are easier process.
