• Elizabeth Bridge Reserve Kilsyth

Unfortunately it was a bit wet & windy today as we set up in the playground area, but that didn't stop locals & lots of cute 4 legged friends using this newly renovated space.

  • Featured engagements

We chatted to community members about the Draft Aquatic Strategy, their thoughts on the recent park improvements and what they loved about the space. We also distributed information around the upcoming Community Changemaker program.

  • Connections

We had officers from the Community Engagement and Recreation team attend today. The weather meant this was a shorter engagement but we connected with around 12 local residents using the space and also attending the local Montrose Food pantry located next to the reserve.

  • What we heard

    The main themes were

    • This space encourages a great sense of community, this grew a lot during Covid & lockdowns. The playground, reserve, pathways & dog area are very popular with locals and from neighbouring councils.
    • You want to see natural resources ie logs/fallen trees used in future improvements.
    • The local Community pantry is much needed & is very well supported by local residents & businesses.
    • You are delighted with the purchase of 150 Cambridge Road & seeing it kept as public open space.
