• Cire Services Easter Market

We hopped along to the Cire Services Community Easter Market, a busy seasonal market enjoyed by locals & visitors. We were joined by around 50 other local traders and participated in a scavenger hunt where we donate prizes to some fun school holiday events (and we had to try a few Easter eggs of course !)

  • Featured engagements

We encouraged community members to answer a couple of quick questions about how they currently use the aquatic facilities in our region & suggested improvements for the future, encouraging them to complete the full survey available on our Shaping website. We also asked what the community love about Chirnside Park !

  • Connections

We had officers from the Community Engagement, Recreation & Communications teams.

We heard from around 140 people including local residents, stall holders and visitors.

  • What we heard

    • You enjoy the ambience, open space and facilities that Chirnside Park offers (you are particularly excited at the new playground coming soon!) However, better drainage & maintenance of the dog park area & a skate park would be great please!
    • Community houses need more activities for +50's (& more of them after hours)
    • Overdevelopment is a concern - can infrastructure keep up? footpaths, drainage & car parking.
    • Council communication isn't great & can be slow to respond to messages.
