Complex Drainage Design

13 May 2025

The design for Arthur’s Road has required an in-depth investigation into the complex drainage requirements, including the need to create a new drainage easement. We understand that this has taken longer than anticipated and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

We want to assure you that Council has been committed to the Arthur’s Road sealing project since receiving a petition from landowners in July 2020. Projects of this nature typically take around 3 to 5 years from planning to construction.

The project steps include:

  • Extensive road and environmental assessment
  • Landowner engagement
  • Surveying
  • Detailed design
  • Cost estimates
  • Council reporting and budgeting
  • A rigorous Special Charge Scheme statutory process

Once the design and easement creation has been finalised, the project may proceed through the Special Charge Scheme statutory process.

This process will include an online landowner briefing to present information on the steps and timeframes, road construction plans and an estimate of costings and proposed landowner charges.
