Woori Yallock Recreation Reserve - Netball Courts, Lighting and Fencing Upgrade

Yarra Ranges Council is committed to improving sport and recreation facilities for the local community. We currently have an opportunity to apply for funding through Country Football Netball Grant Program and will be making an application with the intention of upgrading Woori Yallock Netball Courts, Lighting and Fencing with an upgraded LED Sports Lighting System, court resurfacing and replaced fencing. As part of this commitment, we are inviting feedback regarding the proposed upgrade.

Woori Yallock Football Netball Club is a Council owned Facility, under Lease by the Club, to provide recreational opportunities to the residents in Woori Yallock and surrounding areas. This project will greatly benefit the growing participation in netball and provide safe access across the municipality for participants of all abilities, ages and improve participation.

Why is this required?

The current lighting system on the courts was installed many years ago and no longer meet the needs of the Club, nor current standards required for club training and competition.

What is proposed?

The construction of the new lighting, surface and fencing will include:

  • resurfacing of existing tennis and netball courts to provide two Netball Victoria compliant competitions courts:
  • installation of new LED Lighting to Australian Standard (200 lux) for netball competition:
  • Installation will comply with AS4282.2019 obtrusive lighting levels to adjoining residents: and
  • installation of new surrounding fencing.

Please see the attached site plans for further details on the proposed lighting system including location of lighting poles and the lighting levels across the ground and surrounding areas.

Key dates

SRV will notify successful grant applicants from August 2021. The sports field lighting and green works are currently planned to commence early 2022 and are anticipated to be completed by late-2022.
