Upcoming road construction works along Hearse Road, Millgrove are scheduled to commence in the week beginning 29 May 2023 and should take approximately 12 weeks to complete subject to favourable conditions.

Please note, after a final road design review Council’s Project Engineers have determined that some alterations are necessary. The aim is to ensure there is a better fit to the road environment by utilising the existing well-functioning stormwater drainage.

These changes include:

• Upgrade of existing unsealed property crossovers to an asphalt seal, which will help prevent culvert blockages and reduce gravel runoff from driveways.
• Removal of proposed concrete rollover kerb and channel and concrete edge strip.
• Installation of 0.5m crushed rock shoulders.
• Reshaping of existing open channel drainage and installation of rock beaching for stormwater erosion control.

The standard of works would be similar to Dee Road, Millgrove.

As a reminder, Council has appointed Foley Services as the contractor for these works, with Mick Foley 0418 512 346 being the contractor site supervisor.

The contractor will inform residents of any major disruptions to driveway and/or road access during the works so please keep an eye on your mailbox for notices from the contractor.

Important construction information:

• Works occur between Monday – Friday, 7.30am to 4.30pm (can vary)
• Traffic may be halted for up to 15 minutes
• Emergency access and services will remain for residents
• Weekly waste collection services will be earlier (around 6am)
• Do not leave vehicles parked on roadside when property unattended
• Keep your speed under 40km/h
• Be prepared to stop as you approach the works
• Follow directions given by works personnel and/or traffic controllers
• Council will be undertaking inspections (almost daily)
• Driveways will be reinstated as close to their current standard
