Yarra Ranges Council is seeking artwork designs from 8-10 local artists to be printed on pop-up parklets across the region, as part of a Business Bounce Back initiative.

We’re looking for positive artworks that offer hope, with each to be placed at one of the townships across Yarra Ranges.

With the support of the Victorian Government, Council is supplying the parklets to many of the region's townships to help support social distancing, provide additional take-away seating for local businesses and accommodate waiting customers.

Successful artists will receive $500 (including GST).

What we are looking for

We’re looking for art designs to be used on the rear side of the pop-up parklets, facing the road. The artwork could be a new design or an adaptation of previous work. It could be a single piece or a series of images placed together.

You can submit up to three designs to be considered.

The format requirements are:

  • Printed artwork to be 6100mm long x 680mm high (Submissions must be able to scale to these dimensions)
  • Image format for applications must be a PDF or JPEG file (50MB limit)
  • All images to be high resolution 300 DPI or vector artwork
  • Image will be printed on a tension banner canvas with Kedar edging

The selection process

Shortlisted artwork designs will be assessed by a panel of community representatives. Artists from the township where each parklet is located will be given preference as well as artworks that reflect the artist's impression of their local area. Artwork designs that are positive and offer hope are desirable.
