The Old Warburton Road bike bridge is a fundamental part of the overall project, as the major bridge associated with Stage 1 of the Warburton Mountain Bike Destination.

Construction is now underway on the Stage 1 trails, read more on our website. An official turning of the sod will take place shortly.

This bridge will form the key link over Old Warburton Road joining sections of trails.

Results

  • Bridge cladding

    Corten steel blade cladding was overwhelmingly the preferred option (81%).

  • Who we heard from

    91% of respondents identified as Yarra Ranges residents, with visitors as the remaining 9%.

    Mountain bike riders represented 42% of respondents.

  • How people learnt about this project

    This project page was visited by 1372 individuals, with 150 contributions to our survey.

    The project was promoted via Facebook, Instagram, and the YR Local e-newsletter. We recorded a total of 281 clicks (to this page) from these channels.

Community consultation

The bridge will be constructed from galvanised steel framing, with a fibre glass reinforced plastic (FRP) decking and steel and concrete columns. We are inviting you to let us know which of the two proposed cladding options you prefer (below):
