Public notice

Council is giving notice under section 115 of the Local Government Act 2020 of its intention to enter into a lease with Baxter Business Pty Ltd (trading as Cleanaway). With respect of part of the land at 840 Wellington Road, Lysterfield for the continued use of a waste transfer station. Council’s proposal would extend the current lease by an additional two years.

The principal terms of the lease will be:

1. The addition of one further term of two(2) years, extending the lease until 31/5/27.

2. Under the lease, Baxter Business will be permitted to continue to use the land for a recycling and recovery centre, including sales, solid and putrescible waste transfer station, depot for waste bin hire and storage of waste bins.

Anyone can make a submission on this proposal. Submissions must be submitted by no later than 5:00 pm, Wednesday 22nd June 2022. All submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Tammi Rose, be clearly marked “Intention to extend lease at 840 Wellington Road, Lysterfield” and be submitted in one of the following ways:

Any person making a submission may request to appear in person, or to be represented by another person, at a meeting to be heard in support of that submission. If you are submitting by email or by post, please include your name and contact details, and indicate if you would like to speak to your submission.

Submitters who nominate to speak, will be contacted with the day, time and place of the meeting where submissions will be heard. Please be aware that submissions are required to be available for public inspection.
