We heard from community members that Castella Street is much loved street recognised for its history, shopping, and access to Melba Park.

  • Bins need to be removed from the street outside of rubbish collection times.
  • Garden beds are tired and degraded, with missing blue stone pitches and few ground cover palnts.
  • Any streetscape works should compliment the works that have been done in Main Street.
  • As one of the more historical streets in Lilydale, any project in Castella Street should protect and enhance the heritage streetscape.
  • The retention of on street car parking needs to be carefully considered when making improvements to the street.
