On Monday 28 November, the settlement of Council’s purchase of the former Yarra Hills Secondary College site at 150 Cambridge Road was completed.

The purchase means that we can now ensure that the site will be maintained as open space for all community members to enjoy.

A huge thank you to all the passionate community members who helped make this happen. Without your feedback and ongoing campaigning to Council for the site to be purchased, we may never have reached this point.

Next steps for this site will include a variety of remedial works, such as rubbish removal, chipping dead wood, minor weed control works, filling in exposed pits and some minor earth works to fill in any holes.

Longer term, the site will undergo a Master Plan process where we will work closely with the local community to hear their thoughts and ideas for how the site can be further developed.
